Kathmandu, Sep 21, 2024 / A meeting of transport entrepreneurs including government representatives held at the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport on Saturday has directed that the roads under the Road Department be repaired and operated before Ghatasthapana so that passengers can easily reach their destinations during Tihar and Chhath festivals.
The meeting has decided to direct the Road Department to repair and operate all roads under the Road Department before Ghatasthapana and to operate only predetermined types of vehicles on BP Highways for road safety.
It has been decided to request the Ministry of Home Affairs and Nepal Police to effectively implement the issue of not operating vehicles at night, and to open advance ticket booking soon after discussing with the Department of Transport Management to ensure and secure the travel of passengers.
It has been decided to direct the Department of Transport Management to conduct mechanical tests to make the journey safe and smooth and to organize the journey from the concerned bus park to the destination, to adjust the fare scientifically for one year and to adjust the fare due to reasons other than fuel prices after Chhath.
